Legal Specialist for Human Rights and Gender Advocacy
The Legal Specialist will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of access to justice activities, including legal literacy campaigns, case management, and redress mechanisms.
The role requires experience in human rights law, legal aid, or access to justice programming within HIV, GBV, or key populations contexts.
Strong understanding of South African legal frameworks on human rights is essential.
Strategic Leadership and Oversight of Access to Justice: Lead design, planning, execution of national Access to Justice activities; liaise with Global Fund Prime Recipients; standardize approaches; align legal interventions with human rights, gender integration efforts; translate survey findings into actionable strategies; serve as principal legal advisor to CCI's HRG programme.
In this critical role you will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully towards advancing gender equality, health, and social development through impactful actions and evidence‑based policies that address HIV, TB, STIs, and GBV.
Key qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or a Master’s in Human Rights or related field; at least 5 years of experience in similar context; strong facilitation, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement skills.
