Overview
Main purpose of the position: How You Will Make an Impact: Responsible for managing or performing duties across multiple areas of South Africa finance activities, including Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Control, Accounting, Corporate Tax, VAT, Statutory Audit support for one Trial Balance Location, Treasury Support and Banking Activities, support AP and AR processes, financial data verification, financial records maintenance and month-end closing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Finance & Accounting Management
- Supporting Finance Manager in managing and controlling finance and admin aspects comprised of general ledger activities with primary focus to refinement of business unit operations, support AP and AR processes, and stock count supervision.
- Month end closing processing (journal preparation, journal review, IC recharges, P&L review, managing of the full trial balance).
- Support in cost analysis to Finance Manager and Market Director for Refinish.
- Regular GL reconciliations & analysis and corrective actions for selected accounts.
- Support and collaborate with accounting team.
- Cash flow preparation as needed or requested.
- Support annual statutory audits (external), and occasional internal audit requests, including shop audits.
- Support colleagues with banking related activities of South Africa accounts. Support review and approval of outgoing payments, assist with treasury management as needed.
- Support the accounting team with car fleet and corporate cards maintenance as needed.
- Assist and control rebates, accruals and other calculations as needed and directed.
- Support shop branch managers.
- Support ad-hoc projects.
- Help and support (supervise) teammates.
- Budgeting and Planning
- Budget preparation and submission, review and control for budget vs actuals on monthly P&L for Refinish business unit.
- Compliance aspects
- Support tax compliance activities as per directions from Finance Manager, understand VAT completion and reporting to authorities.
- Primary contact for Refinish Market Director, Customer Service, Sales – trouble shoot in multiple areas interfaced with Finance and overall operations.
- Support statutory audit completion and reporting to authorities.
- Employees Concur card administration.

- Primary focus on Refinish coatings business unit, support to other business units as needed.
What you bring
- Minimum qualifications
- Related finance degree and equivalent practical experience.
- +5 years of relevant work experience in Manufacturing/FMCG and/or industrial listed company, preferably multinational firm.
- Fluent in English - written and spoken.

- Assertive, resilient, persuasive and diplomatic, able to function in a tough independent environment, handle stress and pressure and stand his/her ground when necessary.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- Analytical with excellent planning and organizational skills.
- High level of knowledge in financial concepts and ability to read and understand financial statements direction.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
