Job summary

A leading metal company in Cape Town is looking for a reliable individual to join their Communications department. The role involves assisting with the installation and maintenance of various electronic devices, including CCTV systems and telecommunications. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electronic security field and a Grade 12 education. The position is permanent with standard hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM on Fridays. Overtime may be required. Among the benefits are provident fund and paid leave.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electronic security field.
• Valid driver’s license or actively obtaining one.

Job description

The Communications department currently has a vacancy for a hardworking, reliable individual to join their team.

• Assisting with installation, wiring and mounting of various electronic devices, machines or equipment
• Installation and wiring of access control systems, CCTV cameras and motorized entrance points
• Installation, fault finding, relocation and fitment of all telecommunications
• Fitting of data cables for all network points and power skirting
• Assist in moving offices and setting up PC’s, Phone lines, and moving files
• Mounting, wiring and fitting grids for wireless infrastructure
• Day to day maintenance ,installation and servicing of security equipment
• Tool and equipment maintenance
• Adhoc activities as requested by Manager/Team Leader
• Housekeeping
• Understanding of and abiding by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Qualifying Criteria

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within an electronic security field
• Basic electric/electronic ,CCTV or alarm courses
• Basic camera ,alarm, automation ,data cabling ,electric fencing ,230V electricity knowledge
• Knowledge and experience working with power tools
• Valid driver’s license or actively in the process of obtaining a driver’s license
• Must be prepared to work overtime when required
