Qualifications

Responsibilities (Not Limited To The Below)

The Security Officer’s primary purpose is to protect the personnel and all assets of the business. To prevent loss and damage by reporting any violations of policies and procedures. The following tasks will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure access and egress are controlled at all SA Metal property by completing necessary registers and operating the gates.
• Search pedestrians, vehicles, and personal belongings of anyone exiting SA Metal premises.
• Ensure all customers and visitors are issued PPE and that PPE is returned after their visit.
• Ensure that any items leaving the premises are accompanied by the relevant documentation.
• Adhere to all company procedures before granting access to staff, including conducting and passing breathalyzer tests.
• Manning all gates at all times.
• Patrol all assigned areas at regular intervals.
• Fully adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifying Experience

• At least 5 years of previous security experience.
• Registered with PSIRA - minimum Grade C.
• Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Willing to work shifts, both day and night.
• Flexible and willing to work overtime.
• Excellent communication skills.
