The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, staff, property, and assets across the large, premium Club Med South Africa Resort.
This role supports Club Med's culture of happiness, hospitality, and excellence by implementing world-class safety standards, leading all security personnel, and coordinating emergency response operations.
The Security Manager reinforces Club Med's values while ensuring guests enjoy a carefree, relaxed holiday experience.
Oversee daily security operations across the resort, including accommodation villages, Villas, leisure spaces, sports areas, beaches, entrances, and back‑of‑house.
Implement and enforce security SOPs aligned with Club Med global standards done in alignment with South African legislation.
Supervise the performance and conduct of the contracted security team, working through the on‑site shift manager.
Manage CCTV control rooms, access systems, and physical patrols.
Establish robust incident‑response procedures.
Lead, mentor, and motivate a multicultural security team.
Provide regular training on emergency response, de‑scalation, guest service, and safety.
Uphold Club Med's "Happy to Care" team culture.
Ensure all team actions are executed with professionalism and respect for the guest experience.
Uphold KARE policy in the workplace.
Conduct risk assessments and manage safety audits and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with South African legislation, PSIRA requirements, and Club Med's international safety standards.
Maintain emergency action plans, fire‑safety protocols, and crisis procedures.
Oversee safety during events, entertainment, and peak traffic times.
Investigate incidents and enforce preventive measures and complete IOD process for work accident‑related incidents in collaboration with HR.
Maintain exceptional guest‑service interactions during sensitive situations.
Serve as primary contact for SAPS, emergency medical services, fire departments, and private security.
Deliver routine safety performance reports to management.
Oversee CCTV, alarms, radios, access control, and safety infrastructure.
Manage upgrades, maintenance schedules, and vendor relationships.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage multicultural teams.
Crisis and emergency response expertise.
High‑level situational awareness and fast, accurate decision‑making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong de‑scalation and conflict‑resolution skills.
In‑depth knowledge of SA security laws, PSIRA regulations, and OHS standards.
Proficiency in security technologies (CCTV, access control, reporting systems).
High integrity and confidentiality in all situations.
Minimum 7 years of security management experience.
Minimum 3 years working in hospitality, tourism, or resort environments.
Experience leading large‑scale resort or campus‑style security operations.
Demonstrated collaboration with law‑enforcement and emergency services.
Proven history of developing and implementing security procedures.
National Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Policing, Criminology, or related field.
First Aid Level 1 (or higher).
Valid Driver's License.
Clear criminal record – verified through SAPS or third‑party screening.
CPP, CSMP, Fire Safety Certification, Health & Safety Officer Certification.
Guest‑focused approach aligned with Club Med's values.

Physically fit and capable of emergency mobilisation.
Organised, detail‑oriented, and proactive.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
