Job summary

A leading provider of medical devices is looking for a Junior Sales Representative in the Durban region. This role involves developing and maintaining business, sales and marketing of surgical devices, and providing technical support in operating theatres. Candidates must have a BSc in Human Movement or Health Sciences and at least one year of experience in medical device sales. Qualifications

  • Fluency in English; Afrikaans understanding is a plus.

Our client is a leading provider of medical devices in South Africa. They are seeking junior sales talent to join their team in the Durban region as a Junior Sales Representative in the Surgical Devices space.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and understand how to maintain and develop current business and seeking new business
  • Sales and Marketing of all products in the designated range
  • Attend theatre cases to learn and develop and to apply this learning in a theatre environment and when ready give technical support in the operating theatre when required
  • Ensure full compliance during any hospital procedure, the SAMED code of conduct & CRICE
  • Prepare, review and update surgeon preference lists including quotes
  • Develop knowledge of how to conduct customer calls to drive business growth
  • Acquire the skill to lead the development of existing and new accounts
  • Plan and co-ordinate sales calls and strategies
  • Ongoing training of surgeons, registrars and theatre staff
  • Activities should satisfy quantitative and qualitative objectives set out in annual sales plan for the territory
Skills & Experience
  • BSc Degree in Human Movement / Health Sciences
  • More than 1 year of working experience as a medical device sales representative – preference will be given to Hands trauma experience (Upper limb distal extremities).
  • Proven track record of sales budget achievement in previous roles.
  • Fluency in English and understanding of Afrikaans
  • A high quality of communication, planning and time management skills required
  • Good relationship building, networking, coaching, facilitating and feedback skills
  • Valid code 08 driver’s license and own transport
  • Able to work after hours
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office package including Outlook
  • Ability to work under pressure, work to deadlines and use initiative
