The role:

Design, build, deploy and support SAP SAC Planning solutions end-to-end. Expect to work on model design, data integration, scripting, testing, cutover and production support and to participate in SAFE Agile ceremonies.

Ability to develop in SAP Analytical Cloud Planning (SAC) and understanding of technical objects and data flow within SAC.

• Evaluate user requirements and advise on solution/feature design and content.
• Provide effort estimates and sequencing to deliver features.
• Develop and configure designed features into SAP SAC Planning in line with architecture, standards and security policies.
• Design and implement data integration patterns into SAC Planning (ETL/ELT, APIs, flat files, connection to BW/BPC/PaPM where applicable).
• Implement data governance, data management and data security for data at-rest and in-transit within the SAC platform.
• Build complex planning models leveraging SAC Analytical Application capabilities and scripting.
• Use DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, automated deployments) to deliver against an Always-On, Always-Secure stream of work.
• Perform component and integration testing; provide testers with guidance; assist with system integration testing.
• Plan and execute cutover/migration activities and deploy software to production.
• Provide technical thought leadership on architecture and design within SAC Planning and the cloud journey.

Production support (what happens after go-live)

• Investigate and resolve defects or reconciliation breaks post-implementation.
• Own and automate production stability initiatives and scheduled jobs where needed.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to other resources.
• Support and maintain SAC Planning solutions in production (monitoring, incident response, fixes).

Agile & process stuff (yes, we mean it)

• Provide regular updates to Scrum Master / Engineering Lead / RTE on progress, risks and blockers.
• Own and execute story items; keep Jira and reporting tools accurate.

Must-have skills & experience

• Proven SAC Planning experience (design, build, deploy) 35+ years recommended.
• Ability to develop in SAP Analytical Cloud Planning (SAC) and clear understanding of technical objects and data flows inside SAC.
• Solid knowledge of data integration (BW, BPC, databases, APIs) and data modelling.
• Practical experience in DevOps/CI-CD for cloud deployments.
• Finance / accounting domain understanding able to interpret GLs, cost centres, allocations and planning requirements.
• Good testing discipline and experience guiding testers.
• Comfortable diagnosing production issues and delivering stable fixes.

Qualifications & certifications (required + advantageous)

Required

• Degree in Computer Science / Finance / Accounting (BSc / BCom or equivalent).
• SAP Analytics Cloud Planning certification (SAP Certified Application Associate SAP Analytics Cloud: Planning or equivalent).

Advantageous / Nice-to-have

• SAP BW / BW4HANA certification or experience.
• SAP BPC certification/experience.
• SAP PaPM (Profitability & Performance Management) exposure/certification.
• Experience with SAP landscape integrations and SAP security concepts.
