Job summary

A global logistics firm is looking for an experienced Sales professional based in South Africa to promote and sell logistics services to clients. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in 3PL or freight forwarding, strong client-facing skills, and excellent communication abilities in both German and English. Regular travel is required to maintain client relationships and provide support, ensuring all client needs are met effectively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with 3PL or freight forwarder.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Sales for Ocean freight and Airfreight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop target list and initiate contact with potential clients.
  • Arrange and confirm appointments with potential clients.
  • Support existing clients by acting as intermediary for communication.
  • Provide requested tracking information to clients.
  • Escalate shipment issues immediately for prompt resolution.

Crane Worldwide Logistics is a leader in supply chain solutions with over 130 locations across 30 countries providing individual services that address our client's logistics challenges.

Promotes and sells company services (Air/Ocean/Contract Logistics) through direct client contacts via multiple direct and indirect contact channels, works directly with assigned client or group of clients in providing dedicated support, and analyzes assigned client financial, performance and market trends to recommend pricing strategies.

The role will be require regular travel to clients.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop target list and initiate contact with potential clients through sales phone calls, appropriate social media, promotional flier distribution and cold calling.
  • Arrange and confirm appointments to introduce the company and the company’s services to potential clients and build and maintain ongoing relationships.
  • Supports existing clients, acting as intermediary for communication between client and their operations teams and Crane Worldwide network; available for escalation when necessary.
  • Provides tracking information as requested by the client.
  • Escalate all issues with a shipment immediately to the client to insure prompt resolution
  • Manage all client requests and follow up to insure that the client needs are met
  • Facilitate the completion of national RFQ’s.
  • Provide marketing and proposal support for all Global Sales Team members.
  • Analyzes client profit or loss and provides proposals for yield improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

  • Strong client-facing skills and effective selling to decision influencers and decision makers with a consultative approach
  • Strong computer usage skills, demonstrated capability with suite of Microsoft office products and active in broad-based internet networking tools, e.g. LinkedIn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (German and English)
  • Ability to meet challenges with resourcefulness
