Responsibilities

The main responsibility of this role is to promote and sell new Scania vehicles and services within a designated region (KZN).

This is achieved by focusing on end customer contact, building relationships, preparing quotations that fulfil their demands, and following through to delivery.

The successful candidate will promote and sell new Scania vehicles and services, develop the sales network, and uphold a positive brand image and Scania Values.

Key duties include:

  • Effectively marketing and selling new Scania trucks in a professional capacity, establishing new business relationships and maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Building and maintaining the brand by adhering to the company's quality policy, protocols, and systems.
  • Traveling to Scania dealerships and customers within the allocated KZN region to assist with queries and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Cold‑calling and hunting for potential new clients.
  • Reporting activities and leads daily, completing weekly sales reports and forecasting.
  • Responding to enquiries, following up, and being a team player.
  • Attending meetings and qualifying customers and leads, demonstrating a good understanding of customer needs and building rapport.
  • Handling phone calls, messages, and emails punctually, and conducting customer meetings, including familiarisation with the FIT tool.
  • Upholding professionalism and a positive representation of the Company Brand and Values.
Qualifications

Applicant must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) with Maths; preferably a Sales / Marketing related qualification.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience as a Sales Executive in the automotive industry (preferably trucks).
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Must be located in Durban.
  • Competencies will be tested in the interview if shortlisted: Services Knowledge & Business Ethics, Advanced Customer Relationship Management, Understanding of legal issues, Communication, Business ethics, Industry related experience, Competitor analysis, Customer needs, Leadership, Teamwork, People Management, Strategic Management, Business Finance, Integrity & Compliance.
