Overview
A high-performing health and wellness company is seeking a dedicated Retail Healthcare Trainer & Merchandiser to support pharmacy and retail partners across Johannesburg, South, East and Vaal region. This is a hands-on, high-impact role combining sales and customer engagement and business development.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of pharmacies and retailers, ensuring monthly sales and growth targets are met
- Pharmacy calls per day: target of 10 (approximately 200 per month)
- New business interactions and development within allocated territory, including corporate events, school talks, opening new accounts, and extending the range of existing customers
- Follow a client calling cycle and ensure all customers are visited monthly
- Conduct in-store training sessions to educate staff and boost product knowledge
- Log calls, update CRM (AMS), and plan call cycles with precision
- Support and manage in-store promoters to ensure full coverage and performance
- Be an expert in the products and the training thereof
- Maintain product knowledge by keeping up to date with journal articles, new products, and competitors
- Know the competitors as well as the company’s own products
- Improve sales knowledge through ongoing research and upskilling
- Facilitate training of other staff, including in-store promoters within the team
- Pass all tests with a minimum 80% pass mark
Requirements
- Own vehicle and valid driver's license is essential
- Senior Certificate (Matric)
- Tertiary qualification
- Willingness to travel daily
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
- Ability to work independently, meet targets, and manage time effectively
- Experience in FMCG, pharmacy, or retail environments is highly beneficial
