Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Lead/Manager in Cape Town to coordinate regulatory activities across Africa. The ideal candidate has over 4 years of experience in government relations, understands financial sector regulations including stablecoins, and is bilingual in English and French. Our Client is the largest and the firstlicensed on/off-ramp platform for stablecoins in Africa. They are dedicated to offering innovative solutions in the African stablecoins space. Our client is committed to making stablecoins accessible and understandable for everyone, providing their customers with secure and user-friendly platforms for their financial transactions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with a government relations/public affairs agency and/or corporate function with exposure to the financial services sector
  • Experience supporting executive interaction with a wide variety of governmental authorities and industry associations, as well as with respect to policy initiatives
  • Understanding of payments, remittance and FX regulation (exposure to cryptocurrency a plus)
  • Bilingual in English and French (fluency in Arabic a plus)
  • Degree from accredited, top-tier University
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills (e.g. preparing memoranda, presentations, “white papers”, talking points, etc.)
  • Practical approach with an entrepreneurial mindset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the company’s regulatory affairs activities across Africa, providing value-added support to executives from various company functions to assist them in their efforts to build our clients brand and relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. central banks, capital markets regulators, financial intelligence authorities, Blockchain and Fintech associations, banking associations, American Chambers of Commerce, etc.) Own key stakeholder “maps”, meeting records, presentations, and other relevant documentation
  • Actively identify and manage relationships with external government affairs advisors in key markets
  • Support the development and implementation of uniform regulatory affairs tactics driven from the group level down to regional and country-specific markets
  • Help craft strategies for positioning our client fas the “thought leader” in Africa regarding the regulation of Stablecoins and other digital currencies
