Are you a proven executive leader with a track record of building and mobilising high‑performing sales organisations within the financial services sector? Are you ready to take ownership of an entire region, drive a face‑to‑face, advice‑led sales strategy, and achieve maximum market penetration for a leading financial services group?

Our client is seeking a Regional Sales Director to lead their short‑term insurance distribution strategy. You will be instrumental in executing our vision for profitable growth, service excellence, and superior customer experience across a defined region, ensuring we deliver all short‑term insurance products to our target market.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Design, implement, and control the regional sales growth plan in line with the channel’s and business’s strategic objectives. Set and implement the operational strategy in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Performance & Growth: Monitor and achieve strategic objectives and sales targets, increase sales revenue, and identify new market opportunities. Lead the sales function to its optimal size to ensure full coverage of the demarcated region.
  • Active People Management: Lead, mobilise, and motivate a team of experienced Sales Managers who manage the sales agents (BDCs/Tied Agents). Drive continuous “bar raising” recruitment, coaching, and talent development.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and execute best operating practices, continuously improve sales processes, and ensure effective risk management and governance of the entire sales process.
  • High-Performance Culture: Develop and drive growth in sales alignment with strategic objectives, set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales goals, and inspire a high-performance culture characterised by collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Experience
  • Management of Managers: 5–7 years’ experience managing managers who manage teams is essential.
  • Sales Leadership: 7–10 years’ experience in a Sales environment is essential.
  • Industry Breadth: Experience in both personal and commercial lines, as well as across core business processes (new business, underwriting, claims).
Qualifications
  • NQF 7 Level: Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma relevant to the industry.
  • Leadership or Management studies/qualification is advantageous.
  • FAIS Regulatory examination RE1 (Key Individual exam).
  • FAIS Regulatory examination RE5 (Reps).
  • FAIS Accreditation (RE/FSB recognised qualification).
  • Must maintain 18 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points.

  • Strategic Acumen: Strong business acumen, financial acumen, and ability to interpret data to manage sales operational areas and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Mobilisation: Exceptional ability to mobilise and motivate sales teams, drive lead generation, and continuously manage the sales funnel.
  • Connection: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders to promote cross-delivery practice and represent the business through external networking.
