A corporate service provider in Johannesburg seeks a full-time receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors and contractors. Responsibilities include verifying identification, managing visitor logs, and enforcing access policies. The ideal candidate should have a National Certificate in Office Administration, excellent telephonic etiquette, and a customer service orientation. To serve as the first point of contact for all visitors contractors and employees entering that only authorized individuals gain access while providing professional front-line service and supporting security protocols and compliance requirements.
NQF 5 : 1-2 year Certificate / Diploma
National Certificate / Diploma in Office Administration or related fields.
Experience as a receptionist and switchboard operator in a medium to large organization.
May require shift flexibility coverage for peak times or special reception events.
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Experience with SAP or clerical systems preferred.
Excellent telephonic etiquette, interpersonal communication and customerservice orientation.
Highly organized and detail‑oriented able to prioritize and multitask without close supervision.
Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Professional and presentable demeanor appropriate for corporate environment.
Greet and assist all visitors, employees and contractors in a professional and courteous manner.
Verify identification, issue visitor badges/cards and maintain accurate visitor logs.
Enforce access control policies including Anti‑Passback rules and National Key Point compliance requirements.
Monitor entry/exit points to prevent unauthorised access.
Conduct basic bag or equipment inspections where authorised.
Use electronic access systems and CCTV to monitor lobby activities.
Contact hosts to confirm appointments before granting access.
Ensure all visitors and contractors are escorted or directed to their destination.
Report suspicious activities, security breaches or safety hazards to the Security Consultant or Control Room immediately.
Maintain accurate incident and access records for audits.
Provide information and directions to authorised visitors and employees.
Handle incoming phone calls at reception and direct them appropriately.
Maintain reception area in a neat, orderly and secure manner.
File visitor documentation and update access control records as required.
Assist with security‑related administration such as compiling daily access reports.
