The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in a Distribution Centre environment and strong communication skills. Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience within the Distribution Centre environment.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.

Overview

Job title: Receiving Supervisor (Durban West)

Job Location: KwaZulu-Natal, Durban

Purpose of the Job

To manage the efficiency of the stock receiving process of the DC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the operational performance of the receiving department
  • Liaise with suppliers and buyers regarding all pre-booking and daily booking and ensure that delivery schedule is updated correctly
  • Check delivery window period on the system and ensure deliveries take place in correct window period
  • Ensure that special instructions / requests are carried out in terms of off-loading process of vehicles, promo parcels and client requests to ensure maximised vehicle utilisation and client satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and coaching within the receiving department
  • General management of the receiving department, e.g. managing expenses within the allocated budget, facilitating the import damage process / excesses / shortages etc.
  • Manage the relationships between the receiving department and stakeholders, e.g. QC, buyers, suppliers etc.
  • Identify operational problems / issues; take action to resolve; and escalate where appropriate
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding operational distribution issues (e.g. receiving, storage, QC and admin)
  • Ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Computer Literacy: G-Suite
  • At least 3 years’ experience within the Distribution Centre environment
  • Knowledge of WMS, preferably Manhattan
  • Good communication skills; excellent in planning, organising and problem-solving
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships; high regard for quality and detail
