The Department of the Information Systems invites suitably qualified candidates to join their team.
The Department is situated within the Faculty of Commerce, primarily servicing students reading for the BBusSc, BCom, and BSc (InfSys) degrees. The Department was first established at Rhodes University in 1980 as a sub‑department of the Department of Business Administration (now Management). Today it is an independent Department with a full undergraduate and postgraduate programme.
Information Systems is a two‑year major that attracts numerous students intent on pursuing careers either in Information Systems or Accounting. All students are required to have completed a first‑year semester course in computing offered by the Department of Computer Science before registering for Information Systems.
The Department offers courses at the second, third, and fourth (honours) year levels, as well as Masters and PhD degrees by thesis.
All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research) and community engagement, recognising that there are differences in the execution of these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels.

Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R633,149.00
Cost to Company per annum (approximately): R826, 949.00
