Qualified Motor Mechanic job vacancy in Hermanus.

A qualified Motor Mechanic is needed for repairs and maintenance mainly on light and passenger vehicles.


Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Perform technical testing and diagnostics on a variety of vehicle brands to identify issues and ensure optimal performance.

  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess mechanical condition and identify damages or potential hazards.

  • Perform fault-finding and troubleshooting to accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, or electronic issues.

  • Inspect vehicles for wear and tear, including critical components like brakes, tires, suspension systems, and drivetrain.

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, ensuring vehicles meet safety and performance standards.

  • Repair or replace damaged components, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems, using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Test vehicle systems and components after repairs to verify functionality and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturers’ specifications during all inspections, repairs, and maintenance.

  • Provide clear and detailed feedback to customers regarding the condition of their vehicles, repair options, and preventative maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate service records and document all inspections, tests, and repairs performed.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of tasks and high customer satisfaction.

  • Stay updated on industry standards and advancements, including new diagnostic tools, repair techniques, and vehicle technologies.


Minimum Requirements:



  • Trade tested qualified Mechanic / Red Seal

  • Preferably dealership experience on a variety of vehicle brands

  • At least 3 years’ experience post qualification

  • Good track record of successful repairs and maintenance

  • Good communication skills

  • Physically fit and energetic

  • Driver’s license

  • Residing in the Hermanus area or willing to relocate to this area before commencing work opportunity
