Job summary

A leading cosmetics company is seeking a Promoter Leader in Durban to manage daily activities and drive sales through effective leadership and training of promoters. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in retail and cosmetics, strong communication skills, and supervisory experience. Responsibilities include motivating the team, maintaining brand standards, and analyzing sales data. A Matric certificate is mandatory, and applicants must be willing to work shifts across different mall locations.

Purpose of the Role
  • The purpose of the role is to ensure profitability through focusing on the business drivers of sales, customer service, building and maintaining brand image and awareness. You will be responsible for supervising, managing, training and motivating team members (promoters) on a daily basis to achieve their sales targets and build brand awareness through excellent customer service.
  • As a Promoter Leader, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration. A team leader leads, monitors, and supervises a group of employees to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of the organization. Team leaders motivate and inspire their team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, encourages bonding of team members, and demonstrates flexibility and solution generation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND LEADERSHIP
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the promoters to drive sales across different cosmetics brands
  • Ensure that brand standards are maintained
  • Facilitate regular training and coaching of promoters
  • Analyse sales and competitor reports to identify trends and sales opportunities
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Motivate the promoters to achieve organizational goals
  • Develop and implement a timeline with action plans to achieve sales targets
  • Delegate tasks to team members
  • Empower team members with skills to improve their confidence, product knowledge, and communication skills
  • Conducting performance reviews
  • Recruit high calibre promoters
  • Replace no show promoters as and when required
  • Manage disciplinary processes with HR as and when required
  • Contribute to the growth of the company through a successful team
  • Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team
BE A BRAND AMBASSADOR
  • As a Brand Ambassador you are required to represent the brand style
  • Build brand awareness with promoters in store
  • Ensure that hygiene and safety standards are always maintained according to retailer requirements
  • Adhere to and maintain brand standards at all times
TEAMWORK
  • Work in collaboration with other colleagues and stakeholders to ensure a harmonious working environment
  • Live the company values; always conduct oneself with integrity
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures; display exceptional work ethic at all times
ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING
  • Schedule staff in line with business and client requirements
  • Manage time and attendance of promoters
  • Submit claim forms for overtime, night work (holidays etc.)
  • Provide reports/pictures/displays as required (timeously)
  • Ensure that promoters adhere to sales reporting procedures
