Job Summary

A leading IT Services and IT Consulting company is looking for an experience Project Manager to join their team in Johannesburg, GP.

Project Manager is responsible for managing software related projects, ensuring the successful delivery of technology solutions that meet business needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and oversee the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Management: Develop project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation. Monitor and manage all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project goals, requirements, and deliverables. Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Team Coordination: Manage and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across departments. Work closely with cross-functional team and end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.
  • Reporting: Provide regular status reports to leadership, highlighting key milestones, project performance, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Vendor Management: Work with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure project goals are aligned and service levels are maintained. Understand of business requirements to support the selected third-party implementation partner in designing the most appropriate solution.
  • Change Management: Implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and systems across the organization.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects adhere to the highest quality standards, ensuring both functional and technical requirements are met.
  • Client Onboarding: Guide customers through the implementation of IT solutions, ensuring a smooth transition and setup of services.
  • Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring they are engaged and satisfied with the solutions provided.
  • Customer Feedback: Regularly collect feedback from clients to improve service quality and ensure customer satisfaction. Serve as the voice of the customer within the company.
  • RFP/RFQ Analysis: Review and analyse Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to determine project feasibility, scope, and cost.
  • Proposal Creation: Collaborate with the sales, technical, and product teams to develop compelling proposals, including detailed project plans, deliverables, timelines, and cost estimates.
  • Budget & Resource Estimation: Develop cost-effective project budgets and allocate resources as needed for proposal submissions.
  • Innovation & Ideation: Help the team with innovation and ideation on new projects.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. PMP, SCRUM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in software project management or similar roles.
  • Experience managing projects with digital transformation, software development, infrastructure, or cloud technologies is preferred.
Skills & Expertise
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana), understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum), and proficiency in IT systems and architecture.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Strong focus on understanding and meeting customer needs.
  • Proposal & Bid Skills: Demonstrated experience in preparing detailed project proposals, RFP responses, and conducting contract negotiations.
