Overview

A well-established company in Durban KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in cold storage food processing or industrial refrigeration environments. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled and reliable professional to lead projects, ensure timely delivery and contribute to the ongoing efficiency and safety of operations. Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and manage projects from initiation to completion within cold storage food processing or industrial refrigeration environments.
• Ensure compliance with project schedules, budgets and quality standards.
• Oversee mechanical installations, building services and cold chain requirements.
• Manage and lead project teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure health and safety compliance across projects.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Travel nationally as required to oversee project progress and implementation.

Qualifications

• Trade Test Qualification (e.g. Millwright, Refrigeration Mechanic, Fitter and Turner).
• Minimum 5 years experience in a project management role within cold storage food processing or industrial refrigeration.
• Proven experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Relevant Project Management qualification advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of building services, mechanical installations and cold chain requirements.
• Sound understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance practices.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally on a regular basis.
