Duties and responsibilities
  • Perform professional clinical duties at the Primary Health Clinic.
  • Provide HIV testing and counselling.
  • Perform other relevant duties as required by the line manager.
  • Capture clinical notes on the electronic medical system.
  • Quality Control of the clinic.
  • Ordering and stock control of medication and equipment for the clinic.
  • Handle emergencies on campus.
  • Assist with first aid services at sports events on campus where necessary.
  • Arrange and assist with awareness campaigns regarding health and HIV on campus.
  • Implementation of prevention programs and initiatives.
  • Present information sessions to the campus community.
  • Liaise with internal and external role-players.
  • Assist on Bloemfontein Campus with clinical duties where necessary.
  • Travel independently between Bloemfontein and South Campus.
Inherent requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree on NQF Level 7 or a three-year national diploma on NQF Level 6 in general nursing, psychiatric, midwifery and community nursing) (attach a copy).
  • Post basic diploma/degree in Primary Healthcare (attach a copy).
  • Valid dispensing certificate (attach a copy).
  • Certificate in HIV testing and counselling (attach a copy).
  • Completed the Nurse Initiated Management of Antiretroviral Therapy (NIMART) course (attach a copy).
  • Knowledge of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
  • Proof of registration at the South African Nursing Council (SANC) (attach a copy).
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in a primary health care clinic environment.
  • A valid driver’s licence (attach a copy).
