Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Architect (Pr. Arch) to serve as the Lead Architect for a dynamic, multi-disciplinary professional practice managing an extensive in-house property portfolio. The successful candidate will oversee the full project lifecycle—from conceptual inception to Facility Management (FM) handover—ensuring design excellence, technical accuracy, and regulatory compliance across commercial and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Architectural Design: Act as the primary Architect for small to medium-scale multi-disciplinary projects within a large-scale corporate property portfolio.
- Full Lifecycle Management: Execute all architectural work stages (SACAP Stages 1–6), including design development, technical documentation, and construction oversight.
- BIM & AEC Integration: Collaborate with the BIM Manager to develop and optimize multi-discipline Revit and Project AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) systems.
- Contract Documentation: Oversee the planning and management of comprehensive contract documentation, providing leadership and technical direction to a team of Technologists.
- Regulatory Compliance: Manage municipal submission processes and ensure all projects meet SAPOA area certification standards and NBR/SANS requirements.
- Project Leadership: Act as the Principal Agent, coordinating multi-disciplinary services and managing stakeholder expectations throughout the construction process.

- In-depth knowledge of Building Contract Administration (JBCC/PROCSA).
- Expert application of SANS 10400 and National Building Regulations (NBR).

Requirements
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch or equivalent) from an accredited tertiary institution.
- Professional Registration: Must be currently registered as a Professional Architect (Pr. Arch) with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience as a Lead Architect within a private South African firm.
- Sector Expertise: Proven track record in Commercial and Industrial projects, including greenfield developments and complex refurbishments.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced competency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential.
