Our operations team has a strong drive for optimizing production processes to drive growth and excellence.
We're looking for a Production Manager to join us and contribute to enhancing our factory's performance in a hands‑on role.
The Production Manager is primarily responsible and managing all aspects of the production process, including workflow.
Furthermore, ensuring that quality and safety standards with the processing and packaging are adhered to.
The incumbent is responsible for people management including the provision of leadership, direction and development.
Oversee the daily operations of the food production operations of the company, ensuring that health, sanitation and quality standards of the company and clients are met while adhering to legislative and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate shifts, arrange schedules and monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield and quality goal.
Review production processes for efficiency and drive important initiatives.
Set production objectives and implement to achieve set targets.
Lead daily meetings on daily production schedule with Supervisors and Team Leaders.
Assign roles to production staff according to their competence and work demand when additional capacity plan is developed and maintained.
Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed according to prescribed procedures accurately and timeously.
Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
You will collaborate closely with the operations team, gaining valuable insights into FMCG manufacturing while contributing to tangible improvements in productivity and sustainability.
Knowledge and Experience Required : Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
Diploma in Food Science / Manufacturing / Business Administration – advantageous
Minimum 5 years' experience in management roles in a production or manufacturing environment
Knowledge of food safety, HACCP and appropriate supporting programs (i.e cleaning, pest control, sanitation) is preferred
Knowledge of ISO standards, including ISO and ISO will be advantageous
Analytical skills and production / FMCG background
Proven leadership skills
Ability to work under pressure
Strong people skills and knowledge or Industrial relations
Strong on client relationships and strong communication skills
