Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a candidate to lead their manufacturing function. You will be responsible for meeting budget and output targets, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and developing a motivated team. The ideal candidate should have a relevant manufacturing or engineering degree and significant supervisory experience within a plant environment. Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and procurement/supply chain management is essential, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Extensive plant level supervisory experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain.

Responsibilities
  • Lead to the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet manufacturing requirements and standards.
  • Full accountability for ensuring safety, production quality, and that cost and delivery requirements are met.
  • Responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
  • Manage the team on best practices and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading teams.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
