Overview
PROCUREMENT OFFICER – NORTHERN CAPE
Validation of quotes timeously and ensure that quotations received are at the best price and quality. Placing of orders and follow-ups on delivery lead times to communicate with internal customers. Monitor and improve the running of the MRP and the procurement of materials.
Responsibilities
- Validation of quotes timeously and ensure quotations received are at the best price and quality.
- Placing of orders and follow-ups on delivery lead times to communicate with internal customers.
- Monitor and improve the running of the MRP and the procurement of materials.
- Forecasting and monitoring of required stock and supply patterns with strong involvement with Top Management.
- Responsible for planning, developing and buying of materials.
- Maintain procurement and operating procedures and monitor inventory & delivery variances in price and quantities.
- Manage and control defective, obsolete or redundant materials; liaise with suppliers on availability of stock and future supply.
- Liaise with accounts payable, internal customers and suppliers on the quality and performance of products.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, create and execute purchase orders of materials and services.
- Prepare reports and updates on a weekly and monthly basis; strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in reviewing, preparing and entering financial information.
Experience and Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a procurement officer or in a similar position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
- Material Planning & Procurement / Cost Accounting experience would be highly advantageous.
- Strategic Sourcing / Supplier Relationship Management.
- Category Management / Procurement Project Management.
- Supplier Negotiations / Strategic Negotiations.
- Spend Analysis / RFQ.
- Supplier Sourcing.
Academic Qualifications
- Accounting Qualification.
- Matric with relevant qualification and valid driver’s license.
- Cost Management & Supply Chain qualifications will be highly advantageous.
Behavioral Competencies
- High level of computer literacy.
- Experience in accounting would be beneficial.
- Excellent negotiation skills; organized and systemized.
Salary and Benefits
SALARY DEPENDS ON EXPERIENCE + BENEFITS IN CTC
R30000 – R37000 CTC
