A leading engineering firm in South Africa is seeking a Process Engineer to specialize in mineral processing plant design through various engineering phases. The ideal candidate will have 5-6 years of experience in mineral processing, including expertise in crushing, grinding, and flotation. Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Excel, strong communication and leadership skills are required to lead design packages and mentor junior engineers. This role presents an opportunity to impact both greenfield and brownfield operations.
Our client is seeking a Process Engineer specializing in mineral processing plant design across concept, feasibility, basic and detailed engineering phases. Strong technical capability in mass balances, equipment sizing, process modelling, and multidisciplinary project coordination for greenfield and brownfield operations.
A completed bachelor’s degree in chemical/metallurgical engineering.
5-6 years Mineral processing expertise: crushing, grinding, flotation, gravity, leaching/CIP/CIL, solid–liquid separation, water circuits, reagent dosing systems.
Proficient with AutoCAD 2D design suite (PFD’s & PID), MS Excel and strong engineering calculation capability.
Good communication, report writing, client interaction, and team coordination.
Able to lead small design packages and mentor junior engineers.
