Are you an experienced payroll professional with a keen eye for detail? Do you have solid knowledge of SARS returns, IRP5s, and monthly PAYE submissions? We are seeking a highly motivated Payroll Officer to join our dedicated team at our private game reserve, where you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth and accurate payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and process the monthly payroll for all staff, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly PAYE returns and SARS reconciliations.
  • Calculate, prepare, and submit IRP5 certificates annually.
  • Ensure all statutory deductions are correctly applied and submitted to the relevant authorities.
  • Manage employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with internal audits and ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, particularly regarding SARS and PAYE tax rates.
  • Produce accurate and timely payroll reports as required by management.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in payroll processing, ideally within a similar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of SARS payroll tax, PAYE, UIF, and SDL regulations.
  • Proven experience with IRP5 certificate preparation and submission.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills.
  • A degree or relevant payroll qualification will be an advantage.
