Payroll Administrator
Markman, Port Elizabeth
Minimum skills and knowledge required:
  • Qualification in Finance/HR/Payroll Administration OR equivalent.
  • Course/Diploma/3 – 5 Years proven experience in PAYROLL PROCESSING (weekly and monthly).
  • Knowledge of Pastel Payroll modules / equivalent system.
  • Minimum of 5 years of strong administrative skills.
  • ASTROW clocking system experience. (time/attendance).
  • Financial literacy.
  • Accurate report writing.
  • Experience in the Automotive Industry (MIBCO) – NOT NEGOTIABLE.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory requirements and payroll governance.
  • Proficient in MS Excel (will be tested) – and able to work with high volumes and tight deadlines.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, as well as excellent time management skills.
  • Driver’s license and own vehicle – essential.
Duties:
  • Full end-to-end payroll processing for both weekly and monthly employees.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy in all payroll calculations.
  • Process monthly statutory submissions: EMP201, EMP501, UIF, PAYE, SDL.
  • Reconcile payroll, benefits, third-party payments, and ensure timely submissions.
  • Process terminations, new engagements, changes, and payroll inputs.
  • Manage payroll queries and resolve discrepancies timeously.
  • Print reports generated by the payroll and update the payroll database.
  • Work with biometric time and attendance systems.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and company processes.
  • Ensure that the services provided by the Remuneration Department satisfy the needs of the company and employees.
  • Ensure that the company policies and procedures are applied correctly and consistently within the remuneration functions.
  • Administer and submit data into payroll, e.g., new engagements.
  • Changes to personal data, discharges, transfers, deductions, allowances, and payments.
  • Generate and submit an electronic salaries and wages deposit for payment.
  • Maintain historical records of all third-party payments made.
  • Submit all documents relating to Payroll for verification/review to the Manager for final approval.
  • Do annual reconciliations for IRP5’s.
  • Administration of the Company’s Pension Fund, Provident Fund, and Sick Pay Fund.
  • Reconcile contribution payments and monthly remittance advice.
  • Administer withdrawals, retirements, death, and funeral claims.
