As a Payroll Administrator, you play a vital part in ensuring that every colleague’s pay experience is accurate, smooth and supportive. This role centres on capturing, setting up and processing the monthly payroll, including selection and resignation runs, in a way that reflects our commitment to a culture. Your work helps create an environment where people feel valued, informed and confident, enabling leaders to empower their teams and hold meaningful accountability. You contribute directly to an engaging employee experience by ensuring that pay processes are reliable, transparent and handled with care.

Job Requirements

To thrive in this role, you bring a strong foundation in payroll principles. You hold Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accounting at Higher Grade, along with a recognised payroll qualification. These qualifications equip you to handle payroll processes of about 700 employees per month with accuracy, while supporting our focus on building capable, future‑ready teams. Success in this position comes from a deep understanding of payroll processes gained through at least five years of general payroll experience and five years of payroll administration experience, with at least 3 years of experience working on Sage 300 People. You will also need to have experience in Medical Aid reconciliation. Drawing on this background, you help shape a space where leaders are empowered with accurate information, teams receive dependable support, and the organisation can continue attracting and retaining strong talent.

Skills Requirements

In this role, you use computer systems confidently and apply advanced Excel skills to manage payroll information efficiently. You communicate clearly in both English and Afrikaans, ensuring that colleagues feel heard and understood throughout the payroll process. Your numerical reasoning helps you handle essential calculations with ease, reinforcing a high‑trust environment where accuracy supports performance, engagement and informed decision‑making.

Role Impact

As a Payroll Administrator, you make a meaningful difference by ensuring that payroll processes run smoothly, consistently and with a people‑first mindset. You capture and process monthly payroll instructions, complete dummy runs to confirm accurate salary payments, and compile reports that support informed leadership conversations. You reconcile medical aids, provident funds, unions, salary data and SARS payments, helping the organisation maintain strong compliance and credibility.

You also update and maintain medical aid information to ensure employees receive timely support, manage stationery stock for Materials Management, and build positive relationships with clients that strengthen the organisation’s reputation. Through your work, you contribute to a culture that values learning, engagement and strong talent practices, while helping create a workplace where people feel supported and empowered to perform at their best.
