Job Description

A pharmaceutical company focused on women's health and wellness is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Operations Team Leader (weekends only) to lead and coordinate a large infield sales team of approximately 160 members across the Gauteng area.

This is a weekends-only position, covering: Friday afternoons, full day Saturday and Sunday and Public Holidays, and up to midday on Mondays. Retail hours apply, meaning availability is required until the last retailer closes.

This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a proven track record in managing, motivating, and coordinating high-performing sales teams within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, cosmetics, or FMCG sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all team members are present and punctual for weekend shifts.
  • Address clock-in/clock-out issues, no-shows, and timekeeping discrepancies.
  • Share weekend sales targets and statistics.
  • Actively motivate and uplift team performance in real time.
  • Conduct at least six infield mystery visits per weekend.
Crisis & Issue Management

Respond to customer complaints, staffing issues, and operational disruptions.

Act as a first point of contact for urgent matters.

Event Coordination

Organise and support expos, congresses, and promotional events.

Serve as a backup for event logistics and execution.

Audit & Compliance

Authorise shifts and analyse sales data. Ensure team discipline and compliance with labour legislation and company policies.

Training & Resource Management

Train staff on products, procedures, and business functions. Thorough training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Ensure availability of uniforms, badges, marketing materials, and other resources.

Requirements
  • Own vehicle (essential)
  • Strong leadership and motivational ability
  • Excellent organisational and crisis management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
  • Familiarity with labour law and retail operations
  • Ability to work independently and communicate across multiple levels
  • Ability to work half day Friday, full day Saturday and Sunday, and half day Monday

Salary includes petrol, cellphone and maintenance allowance.
