A highly reputable accounting firm is seeking a skilled and experienced part‑time Accountant to join their growing team on a 3-month fixed-term hybrid contract with the potential for extension. This hybrid role offers flexibility while remaining meaningfully integrated into the team.

The Accountant will work one full day in the office every Wednesday and three additional half‑days remotely. The role involves supporting senior leadership with financial reporting, statutory compliance, and client deliverables. It is well suited to a self‑managed professional who values structure, accountability, and contributing to a growing practice while maintaining work‑life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with drafting and reviewing annual financial statements and statutory accounts
  • Preparing management accounts and financial reports
  • Compiling financial statements using CaseWare/CaseView
  • Supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes
  • Assisting with audits and liaising with auditors
  • Providing financial assistance and insights to senior roles
  • Ensuring IFRS compliance and sound accounting practices
  • Supporting VAT, income tax, and provisional tax processes
  • Maintaining accurate records and internal controls
Requirements
  • BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification – advantageous
  • Minimum 10‑15 years’ accounting experience
  • Strong experience in financial statement preparation
  • CaseWare/CaseView experience is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable in a hybrid working environment
  • Looking for short‑term work with potential to extend
