We are seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Technician to join a dynamic team in Parklands, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the installation, servicing, and repair of overhead cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of traceable experience as an overhead crane technician
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including troubleshooting and repair of cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for crane operations
  • Ability to work unsupervised, climb ladders, and work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Valid driver’s license
  • LMI Certification is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Willingness to work outside normal hours and one week on standby per month
Key Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble, service, overhaul, repair, and load test overhead cranes and hoists according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards
  • Build electrical panels for cranes
  • Perform routine service inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of PPE
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
  • Carry out ad-hoc tasks as required by the employer
