Job summary

OSS Engineer – Telecom Infrastructure – Urgent

Location: Onsite in Umhlanga, South Africa
Duration: 12 months + extension or permanent
Start Date: January

Role Overview

We are seeking a Network Documentation Engineer to support the creation, maintenance, and optimisation of network infrastructure documentation across optical, IP/MPLS, and B2B services. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure documentation accuracy, resource availability, and ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute work orders by documenting network infrastructure, B2B services, and related network elements.
  • Produce and maintain high‑quality network documentation for technical stakeholders.
  • Manage technical network resources such as IP addresses, VLANs, and routing identifiers.
  • Support Network Engineering teams with all documentation‑related requirements.
  • Drive digitalisation, process enhancements, and improvements within the documentation domain.
  • Assist Network and B2B teams in optimising workflows and defining documentation guidelines.
  • Contribute to network projects and represent documentation interests across initiatives.
Skills & Experience
  • HF/FH degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Completed technical apprenticeship with 3+ years of professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands‑on experience with optical transmission technologies (xWDM).
  • Strong understanding of telecom networks, IP/MPLS, and optical systems.
  • Experience using Cramer and/or Netcracker.
  • Knowledge of IP/MPLS and xWDM management systems.
  • Business‑fluent English.
