Job Description
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing all operational aspects to achieve the business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Drive cost‑management initiatives aimed at avoiding or reducing operational costs.
- Enable Business Unit service delivery through implementation of systems, processes and metrics for measuring service levels and satisfaction.
- Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with stakeholders—including end‑users, SMEs, project managers and senior staff.
- Translate strategies into actionable goals and execute relevant projects/initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress.
- Comply with governance in terms of legislative and audit requirements by developing, monitoring, maintaining and ensuring compliance in the business.
- Identify, report and mitigate operational risk at the product, process and/or channel level within a business unit; drive operational efficiencies and delivery of superior quality customer experiences.
- Manage SLA agreements for the Business in line with business objectives; improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence and analysing trends and data.
- Plan and execute campaigns successfully and on schedule; maintain operational accountability for all campaign execution.
- Support effective teamwork within the function.
- Participate and collaborate across teams; plan and manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent and culture of Team Leaders and teams to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies.
- Manage personal and management development to increase own skills and competencies for the managerial function and future leadership growth opportunities.
Ideal Candidate
Education:
- Grade 12 and NQFL 7.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration or related field.
Preferred Certifications:
- Credit Management, Debt Counselling or Project Management (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in debt review or credit management.
- At least 4 years in a managerial or supervisory role within financial services.
- Build strong relationships and effectively manage this function—particularly within magistrate courts—while possessing solid understanding of legal and court processes.
- In‑depth knowledge of the debt review industry, including the roles of debt customers and debt reviewers.
