Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in South Africa seeks a qualified nurse to deliver safe, basic nursing care according to the Scope of Practice. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and a positive patient experience. Qualifications

  • Higher certificate in nursing or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
  • Continuous Professional Development courses are advantageous.
  • No prior experience required, but 1 year post qualification experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver basic nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Identify and report risks to ensure patient safety.
  • Assist in creating a therapeutic environment for patients.
  • Provide accurate records of all nursing interventions.
  • Contribute to a learning environment that builds staff competence.
  • Chart all utilized stock and equipment properly.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To deliver safe, basic nursing care according to Scope of Practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
  • Deliver basic nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
  • Contribute to a positive patient experience by assisting in the creation of a therapeutic environment
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
  • Participate in creating a learning environment that builds staff competence
  • Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charted
Required Education

Higher certificate in nursing (or equivalent).

Desired Education

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses for specific speciality areas.
