About the Role

We are looking for skilled and detail-oriented Mid-weight DTP (Desktop Publishing) Operators to join our team in Cape Town and Durban. As a DTP Operator, you will play a critical role in preparing layouts and artwork for print and digital production, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high-quality output in line with brand and client guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, format, and finalise artwork across various media (print & digital)
• Ensure all work meets technical production specifications
• Perform layout corrections, versioning, and updates to existing files
• Maintain consistency in layout, typography, and colour accuracy
• Work collaboratively with designers, traffic managers, and production teams
• Manage workflow efficiently to meet tight deadlines and multiple deliverables
• Pre-flight files and prepare print-ready documents
• Quality-check final artwork before handoff to printers or clients

Requirements

• 3-5 years of proven experience as a DTP Operator in an agency, publishing, or corporate environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
• Strong understanding of print production processes and standards
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong time management and communication skills
• A portfolio showcasing DTP or artwork preparation work is required

Bonus Skills (Advantageous)

• Experience with digital publishing tools or web-ready artwork
• Knowledge of packaging design or retail POS artwork
• Familiarity with pre-press, colour management, and proofing processes
