Qualifications

  • Applicants must live within Pretoria / Centurion / Midrand areas
  • Must have existing relationships within the Pretoria area / hospitals
  • Previous medical sales experience within urology or vascular
  • Knowledge of the target group of customers such as Stock Controllers, Pharmacy Managers and relevant Support Staff – an advantage
  • Clinical and product knowledge – a definite advantage
  • Existing relationships with customer base – a definite advantage
  • Computer literacy and proficiency on MS Office, specifically Excel (level 2 at least) and MS Word – requirement
Duties
  • Responsible for sales of Urology and Critical Care products, maintaining and growing existing business, and expanding sales within the Pretoria territory.
  • Schedule and attend appointments with existing and potential customers.
  • Demonstrate products to clinical personnel.
  • Complete weekly planner and activity report for submission to direct manager.
  • Achieve sales targets.
  • Network with and develop relationships with new customers, while managing existing customers.
  • Count and manage consignment stock.
  • Request and follow up on quotations.
  • Perform general administration as required for the position.
  • Record all activities on Force Manager CRM.
Marketing
  • Assist the National Product Manager with journal clubs, workshops/VISTA meetings, and various conferences as needed.
  • Assist Sales Managers with sales budgeting per territory for the SBU.
  • Implement tactical and strategic plans.
  • Conduct marketing activities including congresses, customer workshops, and educational events.
  • Make daily calls to customers and new prospects.
  • Promote all products effectively, providing sales knowledge to facilitate selling of product features and benefits.
  • Evaluate, analyse and report on competitors’ products, drive strategies and appropriate business responses.
Customer Relations
  • Establish a network with key stakeholders in hospitals: physicians and key opinion leaders.
  • Build and maintain strong relations with all stakeholders, including customers, payors, government and employees.
  • Attend appointments with customers and prospects.
  • Gather customer requirements in cooperation with Sales Managers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Assist with successful congresses and training workshops.
  • Identify correct customers for product training to ensure ROI.
  • Manage relationships with all customers, prospects and key opinion leaders.
  • Maintain good relations and communication with internal customers (Customer Services, Finance Department, Logistics and Management).
  • Use customer profiling and mapping tools to grow product families according to customer need in line with business strategy.
Sales Reports and Administration
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales budgets for the SBU.
  • Achieve annual sales budgets per SBU.
  • Assist where needed with daily Ariba/Trade World, tender input and quote requests.
  • Submit expense claims on time as per Finance schedule with correct cost allocations.
  • Submit monthly reports to Sales Manager before the 5th of the month.
  • Record weekly call reports and planners on Force Manager and send to Sales Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory SOPs, SA Regulations and Code of Business Ethics.
  • Maintain the company’s ethical position and effectively communicate policies.
  • Adhere to credit policies and procedures of the group.
  • Maintain all administrative responsibilities associated with the position, including monthly reporting on marketing activities.
  • Ensure all product and marketing activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Manage all company expenses within the marketing budget provided.
  • Adhere to any legal or medical requirements and inform management of changes.
  • Submit monthly reports to senior management and record all activities on Force Manager CRM.
Training
  • Maintain motivation to ensure marketing functions are implemented well.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations at Sales Consultant and management meetings.
  • Assist Sales Managers with product queries and/or technical/clinical application information.
  • Manage portfolio by living the company values.
Training Events
  • Identify and implement educational events for customers to achieve growth.
  • Manage implementation of workshop activities with sales team and customers.
  • Train new customers on the product range as set by the manager.
  • Identify workshops and educational events that deliver ROI and product growth.
  • Participate in company business and sales meetings and provide input to management.
  • Attend and assist when needed for planning of all congresses identified.
Stock Management
  • Assist with stock rotation and slow‑moving identification and returns.
  • Assist Sales Managers with input from the field on stock ordering and provide feedback on stock requirements.
  • Manage consignment stock allocated to customers on request from Sales Managers.
  • Manage boot stock allocated to yourself and rotate stock to reduce unnecessary expiration.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented procedural kits within the SBU and provide feedback to Management.
  • Give effective feedback to Management on consignment stock.
