Working hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 08h00 – 17h00
  • Friday: 08h00 – 17h00 (we usually finish around 16h00)
Role Overview

We are looking for a friendly, presentable and reliable Medical Secretary / Administrator to assist with the day-to-day running of a busy specialist practice.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Front desk reception: welcoming patients and answering telephone calls
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments
  • Managing patient files and updating records
  • Preparing brief clinical summaries and updating reports/letters as needed
  • Assisting with the typing and formatting of medical reports, referral letters and motivation letters
  • Liaising with patients, doctors and hospital staff
  • Assisting with billing, accounts and basic medical aid queries
  • Handling emails and general administrative tasks
  • Ensuring the reception and office area are neat, orderly and professional at all times
Requirements & Skills
  • Previous experience as a receptionist/administrator is an advantage (medical practice experience beneficial but not essential)
  • Good communication skills (spoken and written)
  • Friendly, open and professional manner with patients
  • Neat, presentable appearance and appropriate professional dress
  • Basic computer literacy (email, Word, practice software can be trained)
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
  • Stable employment history (we are not looking for someone who frequently changes jobs)
