You will own the end-to-end M&A lifecycle, spanning finance, commercial assessment, operational integration, and governance. You will be instrumental in translating high‑level strategy into tangible transactions, working closely with the Board of Directors and executive teams.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, assess, and prioritize acquisition, partnership, and disposal opportunities actively aligned with the Group’s long‑term strategy.
- Lead comprehensive market, sector, and competitor analyses to continually inform and refine the Group’s growth pipeline.
- Drive end‑to‑end transaction execution, including leading valuation, complex financial modelling, scenario testing, and rigorous return assessments.
- Integrate critical cross‑functional insights—financial, commercial, operational, legal, and risk—to construct compelling, board‑ready investment cases.
- Oversee and coordinate multi‑disciplinary due diligence streams, identifying key risks, value levers, and mitigation strategies.
- Develop and execute integration strategies for newly acquired entities, ensuring alignment with Group reporting, operational frameworks, and control standards.
- Build and nurture robust relationships with external partners, including investment banks, advisors, and regulators, while fostering strong internal alignment with business unit leaders and the Executive Committee.
- Enhance and maintain M&A methodologies, tools, and modelling standards to ensure consistency and best‑practice decision‑making across all transactions.
Requirements:
- CA (SA) qualification or equivalent professional accounting/finance designation.
- 10‑12 years of dedicated experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Transaction Advisory.
- Demonstrated track record leading the full spectrum of M&A processes: sourcing, advanced financial modelling, due diligence coordination, deal structuring, and integration oversight.
- Proven expertise in valuation, scenario analysis, and complex commercial assessments.
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex financial and strategic recommendations clearly to Executive and Board levels.
- Direct exposure to post‑merger integration planning and tracking value realization/synergy realization.
