As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Qualified Maintenance Millwright to join our dynamic team in Klerksdorp.

Role Summary

The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems within a steel manufacturing environment. The role requires strong multidisciplinary technical skills and exceptional fault‑finding ability to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the manufacturing facilities equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems
  • Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot overhead cranes, hoists, and fixed lifting systems, and provide maintenance support to the mobile equipment fleet (including forklifts and similar material‑handling equipment)
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Conduct electrical fault finding on motors, control circuits, limit switches, sensors, VSDs, and basic PLC I/O.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings and schematics.
  • Identify root causes of failures and implement permanent corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of new or upgraded plant equipment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and lock‑out procedures.
  • Complete maintenance reports, job cards, inspections, and statutory records.
  • Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Red Seal Qualified Millwright (Trade Tested).
  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance of steel manufacturing or heavy industrial plant equipment.
  • Solid experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance and fault finding.
  • Proven experience working with industrial hydraulic systems.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic theory and components.
  • Experience with preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy components and working in confined spaces.
  • Experience in manufacturing, mining, construction, or heavy equipment environments.
