Job description

Overview

Maintenance Manager (qualified Electrician with wireman's license) required for our national retail client to be based in Brakpan located in close proximity to Carnival City. The candidate will be working on a contractual basis and will be required to work additional hours as per the specification below.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repairs of overall store and assets.
• i.e. fixtures & fittings; trolleys; workshop equipment; machinery; store structure; building sites; forklifts; hysters and transporters; minor refrigeration.
• Repairs to electrical distribution boards; water pipes, painting, fire sprinklers and systems.
• Identify any problems when conducting maintenance duties.
• Management of all external contractors.
• Ensure excellent standards of cleanliness; safety; hygiene and housekeeping.
• Repairs, general maintenance, safety issues and fire protection.
• Ensure excellent operational standards.
• Ensure effective staff administration i.e. PDR’s and feedback sessions.
• Develop subordinates through coaching, training, mentoring.
• Performance manage subordinate in the department.
• Administration and budget control.

Requirements

• Relevant diploma or degree qualification with managerial experience (highly advantageous).
• 2 years’ experience in similar position will be advantage.
• Essential to have experience in general maintenance functions.
• Experience and technical knowledge of electrical installations.
• Wireman’s license.
• Forklifts license will be an advantage.
• Hands on “technically inclined person”.
• The successful applicant will be required to work Saturdays / Sundays, Public Holidays, after hours and overtime, as necessitated by the business.
