Qualifications

Requirements
  • National Diploma / N6 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Fitting and Turning
  • 10+ years' experience as a supervisor/foreman in heavy engineering
  • Strong background in mechanical equipment maintenance, planning, and budgeting
  • Advantageous: Experience in the sugar industry, Power Generation, boiler and turbine maintenance
  • Proven leadership, quality workmanship, and computer literacy (planned maintenance systems)
  • Commitment to housekeeping and workplace safety
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Maintenance Workshop to ensure plant availability and efficient operation
  • Oversee mechanical maintenance to standard and within budget
  • Track and analyze equipment performance, address inefficiencies and recurring faults
  • Use condition-based monitoring for plant maintenance
  • Monitor and optimize Bearing Cooling Water (BCW) system
  • Maintain a safe, compliant workplace for the team
