Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Gauteng is looking for a Maintenance Foreman to oversee and coordinate all maintenance activities. The role requires a Trade Tested Millwright or Electrical Engineering qualification and a minimum of 8 years of trade experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role. Maintenance Foreman

Type: 3 Month Contract

Seniority Level: Mid-Career (Above 8 yrs exp)

Job Purpose: To oversee and coordinate all maintenance activities within the plant to ensure optimal equipment performance, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily maintenance operations (mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration).
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate work to maintenance staff and contractors.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and comply with production requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Maintain maintenance records and update job cards, checklists, and breakdown reports.
  • Monitor spare parts usage and ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Enforce compliance with HACCP, GMP, Quality Management Systems, and OHSACT.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
  • Mentor and develop team members to build technical capability and performance.
Requirements
  • Trade Tested Millwright or Electrical Engineering qualification (minimum N4).
  • Minimum 8 years trade experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory / foreman role.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration background.
  • Proven experience in an FMCG food manufacturing environment.
