We are seeking an energetic, compassionate and resilient Live‑in Carer to join our Out of Home Care accommodation services in Kununurra WA.

This is a challenging role but the reward for your dedication and persistence is knowing that you can positively impact the lives of young people who have experienced trauma and may be displaying challenging behaviours as a result.

We’re looking for a people‑person whom our young people can trust, who has their best interests at heart and can balance the needs of the young people with the organisational requirements of policy documentation and reporting. Our Live‑in Carers thrive on responsibility, communicate clearly, remain calm in a crisis, and are flexible in their responses.

While no one day is the same you will be responsible for all household functions including cleaning, washing, meal preparation, transportation to and from the community and engaging the children and youth in various social activities.

This role includes sleep‑over shifts.

  • Help customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to community participation programs and recreational activities.
  • Create a comfortable and safe home environment with a consistent routine to help maintain their independence as much as possible.
  • Assist with and help to build independent life skills such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Meal planning, cooking and cleaning.
  • Maintain a high standard of documentation relevant to the children.
  • Transport young people to and from appointments.
  • Provide personal care such as showering, toileting and dressing where required.
  • Administer medication.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

To be considered for these opportunities you will need the following;

  • Thorough experience working with youth with complex behaviours.
  • Experience working in a therapeutic environment.
  • Possess a high standard of reporting and documentation.
  • Have a positive attitude that accompanies your resilience and commitment.
  • Be calm and resilient.
  • Willing to work a week‑on week‑off style live‑in roster (including sleep‑over shifts).
  • Relevant diploma qualification minimum or extensive experience.
  • A current first‑aid certificate.
  • A current Working With Children Check.
  • A current Driver’s Licence.
Desirable (not essential)
  • Previous experience as a Live‑in Carer.
  • Obtained a relevant bachelor degree.
