Part-Time Lecturer – Modules

Emeris – City, Cape Town has a vacancy for a Part-Time Lecturer in the following modules:

  • Semester 1
    • Design Studies 2
Key Performance Areas

Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed. Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Job Purpose

Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Ideal:
    • BA Honours (HEQSF 8) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Information Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Digital design, Multimedia, or Experience Design
  • Alternative:
    • A suitable BA Honours level Degree with Visual Studies, Visual Communication, Design Studies or a related theory module.
Minimum Work Experience Requirements
  • Limited practical experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Information Design, Interior, or related Design fields.
  • Recommended: Lecturing experience in Design Theory, Critical Studies or related theory module in the above-mentioned fields.
