A leading university in South Africa is seeking eligible candidates for an academic position in Civil Engineering. The successful candidate will register for a doctoral degree and receive mentorship aimed at developing their academic career. Applicants must hold a BSc Engineering degree and a Masters in Civil Engineering with a focus on Environmental Engineering. The Discipline of Civil Engineering in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education’s New Generation of Academics’ Programme, has an exciting opportunity for eligible candidates to pursue a career as an academic and researcher. The successful candidate will be expected to register for a doctoral degree at UKZN and will be closely mentored to become an academic through a programme designed to assist with early career development.
The incumbent will report to the Academic Leader Discipline: Civil Engineering.
The successful applicant will be expected to complete a PhD within 5 years from the date of assumption of duty.
A brief statement of motivation regarding the applicant’s aspiration to become an academic and a researcher must accompany the applications.
