Job Description
  • Coordination and delivery of safety training programs in alignment with regulatory standards and organisational safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Section Manager Learning Delivery, peers, safety officers, and operational teams to ensure that the training materials are up-to-date and accessible to all employees.
  • Support the implementation of safety awareness campaigns and initiatives to promote a culture of safety excellence across the organization.
  • Coordinate the logistics and administration of training programs, including scheduling, venue arrangement, and participant enrollment.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of training materials, presentations, and digital learning resources to support various learning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with technical experts to facilitate training sessions and workshops, ensuring that learning objectives are met, and outcomes are evaluated.
  • Provide administrative support for performance management processes, including training needs assessments, performance appraisals, and competency assessments.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding training inquiries, registration, and logistical support, fostering positive relationships and enhancing the employee experience.
  • Assist in the coordination of talent development initiatives, including mentoring programs, cross-training opportunities, and leadership development initiatives. Collaborate with P&O and operational leaders to identify training needs and prioritize learning interventions based on business goals and workforce requirements.
  • Support the Section Manager Learning Delivery in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the training and development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with training-related legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and documentation to support audit readiness.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of compliance training programs, including anti-discrimination, harassment prevention, and ethics training.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and industry partners to stay informed about changes in legislation and industry standards relevant to training and development.
  • Support the Section Manager Learning Delivery in conducting training-related audits, evaluations, and reporting to track compliance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, and industry standards relevant to learning and development activities, providing updates to Learning Delivery Managers, Advisors and Supervisors as needed.
  • Ensure that the learning procedures and process flow are quality controlled, current, and adhered to at the operations.

Experience
  • 4 years’ relevant experience.
  • Appointed Engineering Specialist will be advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Basic understanding of South African labor laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to training and development within the mining industry.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS or SIMS), digital learning tools, and administrative processes for managing training programs and resources.
  • Project Management experience will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of auditing and quality assurance will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and training delivery methods to support the development and delivery of effective training programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications used for data management, documentation, and communication.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to coordinate multiple training activities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, trainers, vendors, and other stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and documentation to ensure compliance with training-related requirements.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, responding to changing priorities and urgent requests as needed.
