Job summary

A global testing and certification leader in Brits, South Africa, is seeking a skilled laboratory technician. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 education with Mathematics and Science and at least 3 years of experience in sample preparation and Fire Assay procedures. Responsibilities include verifying samples, performing various tests, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. Flexibility to work overtime is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years in the relevant discipline.
• Previous knowledge of measurement, preparation, fluxing, and fusing of samples is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Receive samples and verify seal number with the security guard.
• Sort and box samples upon receipt.
• Perform weighing, drying, and crushing of samples based on client instructions.
• Conduct screen checks and splitting of samples in Sample Prep.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas at all times.
• Follow quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
