Job Title: Key Account Manager – Consumer Products Division (CPD)

Location: Woodmead, Johannesburg, South Africa

Mission and Vision

As a Key Account Manager for CPD South Africa, you will be responsible for driving the sustainable and profitable growth of our iconic brands (such as L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline New York, and Garnier) within your assigned portfolio. You will act as the primary interface between L’Oréal and our retail partners, building long‑term strategic relationships that ensure our products are at(mouse “the heart” of the South African consumer’s beauty journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Account Planning & Growth
    • Develop and execute an annual business plan for assigned accounts that aligns with the CPD country strategy.
    • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and consumer insights in South Africa to identify new white‑space opportunities for growth.
    • Negotiate annual trade agreements (JBP – Joint Business Plans) and commercial terms to ensure win‑win outcomes.
  • Commercial Excellence & Performance
    • Achieve and exceed monthly and annual turnover (sell‑in) and market share (sell‑out) targets.
    • Manage the P&L anteriores accounts, ensuring optimized trade spend and promotional efficiency (ROI analysis).
    • Monitor stock levels Algorithm+ forecast accuracy in collaboration with the supply‑chain team to prevent out‑of‑stocks.
  • Negotiation & Relation Management
    • Build and maintain strong, influential relationships with Category Managers and Buyers.
    • Lead high‑level negotiations for compatibles of new innovations, permanent space, and secondary placements.
    • Conduct regular business reviews with retailers to track performance against KPIs.
  • Merchandising & Brand Image
    • Collaborate with the Trade Marketing and Field Sales/Operations teams to ensure the "Perfect Store" execution.

    • Coordinate large‑scale promotional activations and events tailored to the South African retail calendar (e zal Black Friday, Festive Season, Heritage Day).

    • Utilize retailer portal data (e.g., Clicks/Dis‑Chem data) and internal analytics to track performance.
    • Translate complex data into actionable insights for the marketing and sales leadership teams.
