AQRESS is looking to recruit 6 Junior Engineers, with 3 in the Control and Instrumentation (Electronic Engineering) stream and 3 in the Renewable Energy (Electrical Engineering) stream. The Junior Engineers will support senior engineers in projects related to renewable energy and control and instrumentation engineering within the power & energy sectors, mining, water & wastewater, and others. This entry-level position is designed for individuals looking to gain practical experience and develop technical skills in specialised engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of control systems and instrumentation or renewable energy projects based on interest (renewable energy or C&I stream).
- Support senior engineers with testing, installation supervision, and commissioning of electrical and C&I systems.
- Support the analysis and improvement of existing systems in power generation, energy management, and water treatment processes.
- Participate in the integration and configuration of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and DCS (Distributed Control Systems) for enhanced operational efficiency – for C&I stream graduates.
- Collaborate on the deployment of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) to optimise energy management in renewable projects – for electrical stream graduates.
- Assist in the IT/OT (Information Technology/Operational Technology) integration efforts to enhance data flow and operational efficiency across systems.
- Support implementation of AI (Artificial Intelligence) solutions for predictive maintenance, data analysis, and system optimisation.
- Conduct testing and validation of systems to ensure functionality and compliance with industry standards.
- Assist in technical documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and project reports.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in renewable energy, control technologies, and AI applications, contributing insights to project discussions.
- Support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts on-site to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of renewable energy systems and instrumentation.
- Contribute to the health, safety, and environmental practices on projects to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Support R&D teams with advanced research and building of solutions to address critical client challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering
- Passion or interest for renewable energy and/or automation systems
- 0–2 years of experience in an engineering environment
