Junior Accountant job vacancy in Pretoria East.

Are you a young, driven professional ready to take the next step after completing your articles? We’re looking for a bright, fully bilingual Accountant who loves numbers, thrives on solving problems, and wants to grow with an energetic, forward-thinking team.

Salary: R40 000 per month including benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, trends, and key insights.
  • Oversee Financial Officers’ work for quality and consistency.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review financial data (sales, expenses, bank statements) and support the CFO.
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, Management Accounts, and Annual Financial Statements.
  • Ensure SARS compliance for Payroll, VAT, and Income Tax.
  • Review payroll and support annual audits.
  • Manage cash flow and liaise with service providers as needed.
  • Enforce company policies and contribute to process improvements.
  • Perform ad hoc finance and operational tasks, reconcile accounts, and track discrepancies.

Requirements:

Education & Professional Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Completed all relevant professional examinations (SAICA or SAIPA).
  • Articles completed.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years post-articles accounting experience.
  • Practical experience with tax returns, financial audits, budgeting, and risk management.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, IFRS, and tax regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software, including Pastel, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks; experience with Sage Intacct is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines.
